Copyright Your Web Pages Now

Copyright is a form of intellectual property law that grants protection to original works of authorship. Copyright rules for photos, text, music and artwork apply in the same manner to websites as those of traditional forms of publication.

You can now put the world on notice of your copyright in a few easy steps:

Step 1 - In an html editor, insert the following Copyright code into the bottom of each web page you want to protect. Make sure that the code is above the </body> tag.

Step 2 - Create your copyright_notice.html page. This page should include the following...

Step 3 - Republish your revised web page(s).

Step 4 - Print and keep a copy of each web page with the copyright notice.

Optional: We recommend registering your work with the Copyright Office for further protection. You can do this on your own or we can assist you through the process. For more information, please email us at copyrights@alderman.com.
