Remember Your Customers During the Holidays
December is upon us and therefore tis the season for spreading joy and happiness to those around us. The Christmas season is a whirlwind of shopping, decorating, eating, and spending time with loved ones, but it is also a time to give thanks. In our busy day-to-day lives, we often forget to thank the people around us who contribute to our happiness and success and Christmas is a great reminder to us to show our appreciation. We show our gratitude towards our family, friends, and colleagues in the form of gifts or kind gestures, but how do we thank those people that make it possible for us to prosper in the online adult industry? We must let our customers know that we appreciate and value their membership and we should remember to give them incentives for their continued support.

There are many ways that you can spread your Christmas spirit so that your customers feel that they are being recognized during the holiday season. If you are feeling especially entrenched in Christmas joy, you could go all out and dress your site up for the occasion. Many large websites adapt their interfaces to match the holidays and this adds a touch of warmth to their sites. Go ahead and go Christmas crazy and add some green and red to your site or add little holiday graphics to your main page such as reindeer, Santas, snowflakes or candy canes. If you are feeling like Santa Clause himself, then try adding a little Christmas jingle to your site. This will let your customers know that you are remembering them and it is a very nice touch that does not take very much effort. As well, Christmas always puts people in the buying mood, so by going that little extra mile with your site, you could wind up gaining yourself some more business.

Another nice holiday addition to any paysite is some Christmas content. Many of the larger content providers do carry content that is Christmas themed and sure to brighten up anyone’s holidays. It is a good idea to keep a few sets of content on hand that are themed towards all the holidays during the year including Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, and Halloween. Naked girls dressed up for the holidays or sitting on Santa’s knee is sure to put a little Christmas spirit into even the nastiest grinch. Most people send out Christmas cards to their family, friends, and clients during the holidays to acknowledge and thank them during the season. Just because our industry may be slightly “out there” does not mean that we have to break the tradition of sending out cards to thank those that allow our business to survive. Remember your customers by sending them holiday e-cards with warm wishes. One thing that I would not advise, however, is mailing actual paper cards as these tend to be opened and read by the wrong people (if you know what I mean). I do not think your customer who values their anonymity while surfing porn would appreciate it if his wife opened a Christmas card addressed to him from an adult site. A good site to find a wide selection of e-cards for any occasion is Blue Mountain.

If you are feeling especially jolly this Christmas, why not go the extra mile and reward your customers with some kind of gift or incentive. If you run a content company, then perhaps you could offer webmasters a deal on holiday content. If you have a paysite then you could offer members that pay for a month an extra week for free. For Thanksgiving, Adult.com sent turkeys out to their webmasters. This is something that had webmasters talking and ended up getting Adult.com a lot of good publicity. Even by showing just a little generosity, you will most likely be doing more than your competition, and your customers will appreciate your holiday kindness. It is always a rewarding feeling to give to others and in this case your giving could turn around and reward you in return. People remember acts of goodwill and they will be more likely to give you repeat business.

It does not matter whether you are a content provider, have a Webmaster program, or run a Webmaster resource site, everyone has customers and these customers should be thanked at some point. Christmas provides the perfect opportunity for us to do this. While many people in this line of work forget or feel that this type of gesture is not necessary, it is still pretty much mandatory practice in most mainstream industries. Due to the fact that it is unusual for people to remember their customers in this industry during holidays, your act of kindness will stand out and definitely be remembered. Get a step ahead of your competition and be a pioneer. Your goodwill will be beneficial for both your customers and you in the long run.
